Kicks for Lebanon: Football That Means More
At Iron City FC, we have always believed that football has the power to bring people together regardless of language, nationality, culture, or background. The game connects neighborhoods, families, and communities in ways that few things can.
Kicks for Lebanon was created with that same belief.
This World Cup-style charity tournament is dedicated to recognizing the resilience of Lebanese communities that have endured the devastating effects of war. Rather than simply playing matches, every team steps onto the field as a symbol of solidarity and hope.
The tournament features six teams divided into two groups. Each club plays two group-stage matches before the top teams advance to the semifinals and ultimately compete for the Kicks for Lebanon championship.
To keep every match exciting, games consist of two five-minute halves. If teams finish level, the winner is decided through a dramatic one-versus-one penalty shootout against the goalkeeper. The tournament also rewards attacking football by awarding bonus standings points for goals scored after building a three-goal lead.
Beyond the competition, Kicks for Lebanon is an opportunity for our community to come together. Every supporter, volunteer, player, and family member contributes to an event centered on compassion, unity, and the belief that sport can inspire positive action.
The participating teams—Iron City FC, Nabatieh, Tyre (Sour), Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, and Aitaroun—represent more than names on a schedule. They serve as reminders of communities whose stories deserve to be remembered.
This event is not about politics. It is about people.
It is about recognizing human resilience, celebrating community, and using football as a platform for hope.
As the first whistle blows at 5:30 PM, we invite everyone to join us in supporting a tournament where every pass, every save, every goal, and every handshake reflects something greater than the final score.
Together, we play for hope.
Together, we stand with Lebanon.
